WHAT IT TAKES
The Employment Placement Specialist ( EPS ) performs a job development role by supporting clients to secure informational interviews with employers, job shadowing opportunities and work experiences and job placement. This position assists clients to prepare for interviews and provide ongoing support to individuals in wage subsidy and work experience placements. The EPS is also responsible to initiate, build and maintain relationships with employers and source work placements for clients.
This posting is for a full-time (40 hrs/week) Employment Placement Specialist who will work with persons with multiple barriers to employment including those with disabilities. This position works out of the Maple Ridge WorkBC office.

WHAT IT TAKES

•Assist clients with job search activities:
•company research
•resumes & cover letters
•interview skills
•mentorship preparation
•informational interviews
•Liaise with employer networks to initiate and build working relationships;
•Identify and negotiate work experience and wage subsidy opportunities for clients
•Keep detailed records of all participants and employers as required by the funder entering information into ICM ;
•Provide statistics and reports as required;
•Post-secondary degree or equivalent level of expertise and experience in the employment services field;
•Knowledge and experience working with persons with multiple barriers to employment including disabilities;
•Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
•Ability to develop Employer network;
