Job Summary

The Team
The Strategic Initiatives Branch consists of 2 teams and a 13 member staff that leads and manages Health Data Platform BC which is a secure cloud-based platform designed for data research and analysis. Both teams work very closely with 2 additional teams consisting of members from service providers supporting the platform build. This position is part of the Business Delivery, Operations & Communications Team which oversees the overall program planning and delivery for HDPBC. The team leads planning & prioritization of work across various programs, building operation workflows and user journeys maps, dependency management, User experience improvements and Change Management.

The Role
The Product Manager will be responsible for leading the teams working on Health Data Platform BC providing business requirements and direction to the delivery teams as well as partnering with other areas within the division that provide operational support to the platform. The position will also be responsible to liaison with health organization partners and other data contributors to build and streamline data pipeline operations.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master's degree in a computer science related field and 3 years of *related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field and 4 years of *related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a computer science related field and 5 years *related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a computer science related field and 6 years *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include at least one or more of the following (preference may be given if you meet more than three):
  • Experience leading multi disciplinary agile delivery teams to deliver a new product and/or iterations to an existing product to meet user needs and experience expectations.
  • Experience using modern agile project management practices, open-source development and cloud platforms to design, deliver and continuously improve high quality digital products and services.
  • Recent experience managing complex enterprise IM/IT projects with multiple interdependencies including major business transformations, strategic communications, and the oversight of system integrators.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives across a large organization.
  • Recent experience building and managing user journey workflows and business operations workflow.

This is a temporary opportunity until November 1, 2025, with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent.
