Emergency Response & Security Lead

Just HR has an immediate need for an accomplished Emergency Response & Security Lead. The successful candidate will report to the HSE Manager at our client’s project site. This critical role on our clients project team will lead the Emergency Response and Security team. We are looking for candidates who can step into a pivotal role ensuring safety and security in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will oversee critical emergency preparedness and security operations, working on a 10-days-on, 4-days-off rotation at our project site. This role will start as a 1-year contract role with excellent potential for additional 1-year extensions with a fantastic company, culture, and future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement and enforce comprehensive security strategies, guidelines, and protocols.
• Oversee security measures and coordinate activities to optimize performance and outcomes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the security team, ensuring adequate training and support.
• Take swift and effective action in response to security threats or emergency situations.
• Perform routine security inspections to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
• Work closely with various departments to maintain workplace safety and secure facilities.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of the security team.
• Create detailed documentation of security events, including incidents and resolutions.
• Monitor and maintain all security systems and equipment, addressing repairs or upgrades as needed.
• Stay informed of security protocols and ensure all personnel comply with directives.
• Build relationships with law enforcement agencies and other key stakeholders.
• Develop and update emergency response plans to address natural and human-made crises.
• Lead response efforts during disasters, including coordinating evacuations, sheltering, or other measures.
• Evaluate facilities and emergency systems to confirm operational readiness.
• Collaborate with government entities, public safety teams, or utility providers during emergency situations.
• Act as the primary decision-maker during crises, offering clear direction and guidance.
• Provide updates to the public or media regarding emergency preparedness and response efforts.
• Maintain thorough records of emergency responses to refine and enhance strategies.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Emergency Response or Security, ideally in a leadership capacity.
• A degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related discipline is a significant asset.
• Certifications and training in emergency response or relevant fields, reflecting ongoing professional development.
• Background in rotational roles within remote construction or operational environments is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency in budgeting and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with modern security technologies and equipment.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing reports and devising emergency response frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of security practices and procedures.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically capable of managing the demands of the role.
• Additional certifications in First Aid, CPR, or similar areas are advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Outstanding communication and team leadership abilities.
• Proven ability to stay composed and effective in high-pressure situations.

Compensation:

• $75 - 85/hr
