Job Description
Just HR is looking for a Policy & Governance Advisor on behalf of a major enterprise that’s currently undergoing a substantial policy overhaul. This role involves shaping governance strategy, reviewing existing documentation, and planning and executing updates (such as drafting terms of reference, accountability frameworks, working documents, and training materials). The position also includes collaborating with external peers, managing contracts for external evaluations, and working with various levels of internal leadership at our client. Ideal candidates will have excellent people skills, strong project management experience (scheduling and implementation), top-notch writing abilities, and the motivation to work both independently and on a team. This is a hybrid role mostly work from home with occasional travel to Burnaby for stakeholder meetings.
Responsibilities:
The Policy & Governance Advisor ensures the successful delivery of medium to high-risk, complex business process changes (or comparable initiatives) with an emphasis on safety, quality, budget, and timely completion. This involves leading cross-functional teams and applying core project management principles.
- 10 years of project management experience or similar background.
- Plan, oversee, and provide regular updates on business process changes (or equivalent projects) by tracking outcomes, resources, and status.
- Develop critical project documents (e.g., project plans, action logs, communication strategies, status reports, and post-implementation reviews) to keep activities aligned with goals.
- Create project plans and risk management strategies by identifying, assessing, and monitoring potential risks throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Handle all phases of project management—scoping, scheduling, supervising, and reporting—while using advanced Microsoft Office skills and project management tools to meet our client’s business requirements.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with clear, consistent communication. Leverage excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to ensure projects stay on track.
- Establish and track implementation standards using solid analytical thinking and a thorough knowledge of project management practices to make the most of available resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field
- PMP preferred but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, suitable for a professional setting
- Demonstrated governance or regulatory experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven track record in project management (including scheduling and execution)
- Strong writing ability for document revision
- Presentation development skills
- Team-focused and self-driven approach
Compensation:
- $80 - 95/hr. Candidates with more experience and niche expertise may command more.
