Health & Safety Training Lead

Just HR's Health & Safety Practice has an immediate need for a Health & Safety Training Lead who is passionate about creating a safe and compliant work environment. This is a one year contract term with excellent potential for additional one year extensions. Reporting to the Manager, HSEC you'll play a key role in driving our commitment to safety, health, and environmental excellence. You’ll provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, ensuring our teams meet all safety, health, and environmental requirements while fostering a culture of continuous learning. This exciting opportunity is located at the project site, with 10 days on, 4 days off rotation. 

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate tasks including tracking training progress, managing class schedules, and preparing reports on training status.
• Work closely with the Employee Services L&D admin team to ensure training records and reports are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
• Facilitate and delivers safety and regulatory training programs to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives and training strategy.
• Collaborate with the HSE department to reinforce safety policies and procedures, providing coaching to team members throughout the operation.
• Review and updates training materials to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.
• Adapt training sessions to meet the needs of diverse client groups, ensuring flexibility across all three operational shifts.
• Maintain a high level of technical quality in HSE training materials, ensuring they are current and effective.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Education, Design, Health, Healthcare, Public Safety, Technical Fields, or a related discipline.
• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in HSE training, ideally within natural resources and/or a capital project environment
• Strong understanding of federal and provincial regulations related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate others, both verbally and in writing.
• Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate effectively during presentations.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Experience in adult learning techniques and methods.

Compensation:

• $75 - 95/hr. Candidates with more experience and niche expertise may command more.
