Job Summary

The Team
The Assistant Deputy Minister's Office (ADMO) is a collaborative and established team of approximately 8 staff members who work closely with the Division's executive leadership, administrative staff, and the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM). The Role
As Manager of Division Operations, you will be at the heart of supporting key areas such as human resources, issues management, and communications to enhance division operations. Your work will directly impact the System Liaison and Support Division, which is committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and caring school environments that help all students thrive. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma in office administration, public administration, political science, communications, or another related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience supervising administrative and/or technical staff.
  • Experience navigating and providing advice surrounding a range of administrative policies and procedures, including HR.
  • Experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Experience dealing with executive members on highly confidential and sensitive issues.


Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience working with related industry stakeholders (e.g. BC Teachers Union, BC School Superintendents Association).
  • A degree in office administration, public administration, political science or communications.
  • Experience writing formal business reports, divisional business plans, and email correspondences for senior officials.
  • More than one (1) year experience in supervising administrative and/or technical staff.
  • More than two (2) years of combined experience in:
    • Navigating and providing advice surrounding a range of administrative policies and procedures, including HR.
    • Experience in a senior administrative role.
    • Experience dealing with executive member on highly confidential and sensitive issues.

About this Position:
There is one permanent, full time opportunity in Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
