The Opportunity
The Facilitator/Job Developer is responsible for facilitating career and vocational exploration for youth participants. This role also leads participant recruitment and screening while supporting youth in securing and maintaining employment or further training after the classroom phase.

Education & Experience:
This full-time position (40 hours per week) will be based out of Douglas College Burnaby Training Centre and will require regular travel throughout the Lower Mainland. Shifts may include occasional evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Recruitment & Intake:
• Market, recruit, and screen potential participants ensuring targets are met.
• Co-create individual action plans with participants, outlining goals, service needs, and steps to achieve employment.
• Complete all necessary documentation for program participation.
Instructional Delivery:
• Facilitate cohort-based sessions in person.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group career coaching.
• Coordinate guest speakers, third-party training, and community events for each cohort.
• Offer feedback and suggestions for curriculum enhancements.
• Iterate curriculum for relevancy between cohorts.
• Administer and debrief various career assessments.
Employment Support:
• Assist participants with job search and career planning.
• Support job development, placements, and monitor work placements.
Community Outreach:
• Promote Douglas College and its programs to community partners.
• Provide outreach for case-managed participants as needed.
• Participate in committees supporting at-risk youth.
• Represent Douglas College at career fairs, community and special events.
Additional Duties:
• Attend team meetings, strategic planning, and program review sessions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT IT TAKES
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED :
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and career consulting experience;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in career development and employment counseling; and
• Experience with facilitation and classroom management.
• Strong understanding of labour market trends;
• Expertise in job search strategies, career planning, and life skills facilitation; and
• Certified Career Development Practitioner ( CCDP ) designation preferred.
