DevOps Engineer

6-month DevOps Engineer contact role working on the enterprise engineering team of a local enterprise organization

As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add a Senior DevOps engineer with expert level GitLab skills to their enterprise engineering team. You will be working on their next-generation delivery platform for software development powered by GitLab to empower developers to build secure software faster. It enables collective ownership, self-service, continuous improvement, and continuous experimentation.  You will partner closely with Technical leads, Technology Managers, and Enterprise Engineering leadership to align strategic objectives and provide a vision for your respective engineering teams. The goal this year is to drive standardization of CICD Pipelines via GitLab Pipeline components, pipeline governance, DORA and other metrics collections and observability.  This team has great leadership and tremendous opportunities for learning and growth.

They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a remote work arrangement, 3 days on site.

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 10+ years of experience as leading & working on CICD, cloud , docker & k8s technologies.
• Expert level GitLab experience.
• Experience with CICD platform implementation, managing & building for scale.
• Experience in architecting the infrastructure provisioning and pipeline as code for CI/CD using various latest tools and technologies.
• Experience with CICD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, TravisCI, Jenkins etc.
• Experience with programming languages i.e Go lang, Java, Ruby, Shell etc.
• Experience in working on Unix/Linus operating systems and managing Databases i.e MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.
• Understand the domain/area of focus, including customers’ architecture, code, pain points, and roadmap.

This role pays between $90-110 per hour.
