Job duties

Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Build, lay subflooring and build foundations, door, install floor beams, staircases, frame buildings, and erect walls and roof systems by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware
Layout floorings, roofing and drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Willingness to follow safety guidelines always

Terms of employment

Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage

$35/h

Benefits package

Vacation pay is accrued at 4% and you will be registered for our optional medical/dental benefit package. The company pays 50% of the benefits and the employee pays the remaining 50%.

Location of work

3133 Sumner Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3E3 and multiple locations in Metro Vancouver depending on the jobsite address

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education: secondary school required

Work Experience:

minimum of two years of experience as carpenter or cabinetmaker required
proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools
demonstrable construction knowledge (overall understanding of the construction process and sequencing) required

Language requirements:

Spoken and written English required
