Job duties

General carpentry including measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Repair building envelopes and decayed wood framing
Renovate residences and wooden structures
Install windows/doors, exterior siding, wood fascia’s and trim boards
Build and repair decks
Structural framing

Terms of employment

Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Skills requirements – Education and Work experience

Education: secondary school required

Work Experience:

minimum of 18 months as carpenter required
proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools
demonstrable construction knowledge (overall understanding of the construction process and sequencing) required
