Job Summary

The Team
The North Peace Operations team is a dedicated group focused on ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and services through road and bridge maintenance. Comprised of both new and experienced staff, the team thrives on collaboration and building strong stakeholder relationships.

The Role
The District Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of road and bridge maintenance, supervising staff and ensuring contract compliance. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team while supporting the development and implementation of key infrastructure projects in the North Peace region.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Graduation from a University in a related field of study** and minimum 3 years public or private sector related experience* OR;
  • Graduation from a Technical Institute in a related field of study** and a minimum of 5 years public or private sector related experience* OR;
  • Secondary School Graduation or GED and Minimum of 7 years public or private sector related experience* OR;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with direct transportation related experience including contract management, project delivery, road and bridge construction and emergency response.


*Related experience should include but is not limited to the following:
  • Public or private sector experience equivalent to a managerial, construction supervisor, field superintendent, or related employment involving management.
  • Supervision and inspection of the construction, repair or maintenance of roads, bridges, and similar structures.
  • Negotiating and coordinating the work of construction trades.


**Related fields of study should include but are not limited to:

Civil Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction, Transportation Systems and Planning, Traffic, Forestry, Resource Management, Urban or Regional Planning, or equivalent.

Proviso
  • Must hold and maintain a Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License.
