What You’ll do:
- Entering AP invoices into Timberline software / Yardi
- Entering checks and EFTs into accounting software
- Producing chargeback invoices monthly as they occur
- Tear checks from invoices and put them in the mail room to be mailed.
- Liaison with property management and accounting staff as needed
- Enter deposit receipts within accounting software daily along with updating manual Accounts Receivable list
- Processing checks as needed
- GST returns by property
- Complete petty cash reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation activity through verification of accounts regarding cash at hand and cash at bank.
- scan invoices and statements, and all supporting documentation as necessary.
- Own the invoice approval process by coordinating with various departments to ensure all invoices are properly approved.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of vendor records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors and/or internal departments regarding discrepancies or issues.
- Manage and update all working paper schedules.
- Support other Finance team members with the month-end close and other ad-hoc projects.
What You Bring:
- University or Collège diploma. Vocational training a bonus.
- 1-3 years accounting experience
- Strong computer skills specifically with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PP, Outlook and Mail Merges.
- Previous experience in the Real Estate Industry is an asset.
- Friendly, personable, and polished professional demeanor
- Motivated and ambitious self-starter with excellent multitasking abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and adept at interpersonal communication
- Above average typing and proof-reading abilities.
- Above-average typing and proofreading abilities
- Proficient in basic math calculations
- Skilled in operating a multi-line telephone system and knowledgeable in office equipment such as fax, postage machine, and copier
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ideal experience with Timberline and Yardi software
- Highly organized self-starter
- Particularly fluent in MS Word and Excel
- Exceptional oral communication skills
