Job Summary

The Team
Join the French Education team at The Ministry of Education and Child Care, an established and dedicated group of eight professionals working within the Student Learning Branch of the Learning and Education Programs Division. Our team, which includes roles such as a Director, Provincial Coordinators, and a Manager of Translation Services, is committed to supporting Francophone and French as a second language students from preschool through postsecondary. We value collaboration and meet weekly in Victoria to foster a strong, supportive work environment.

The Role
As a Project Administrator and key member of our French Education team, you will provide project management, research, and administration for various initiatives aimed at enhancing access to French education programs and bursaries for Francophone and French as a second language students across British Columbia. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in both English and French, directly contributing to the advancement of French education in the province. By joining our team, you'll be part of a collaborative group where your work will have a meaningful impact on students and educators alike.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Diploma in office administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must be fluently bi-lingual in Canada's two official languages, French and English.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience in office administration.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment providing operational and project support within a team environment.
  • One (1) year or more of experience managing and/or coordinating administrative projects.
  • Experience applying and/or interpreting rules, policies and/or procedures.
  • Experience using a variety of computer and software applications, including MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preference may be given to applicants who have the following:
  • Experience with Content Manager9 and/or FileMaker Pro.
  • Additional years experience in any of the above noted requirements.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.Victoria has two building locations, both with space to accommodate in-office work. The Vancouver office may be accessed for limited drop-in use. Please contact the hiring manager for further details or if you have any questions.
