Job Summary

The Team
The Hospital & Provincial Health Services Division (HPHS) leads the service transformation across the health sector, bringing together key mandated initiatives and specialized services for priority populations adding enhanced value and focus to health sector areas requiring substantive change. HPHS is responsible for core service/policy development for specialized services while ensuring a strong linkage to transformation activities and ensuring consistent and coordinated delivery of specialized services to patients.

The Cancer Care Branch (CCB) offers policy support, oversight, evaluation, and strategic direction for the cancer care system in BC. This is a fairly new team that is responsible for providing policy and program advice, managing issues related to cancer services provided by BC Cancer, PHSA, and regional health authorities. Team members work closely with a variety of professionals including policy advisors, program managers, consultants, strategic directors, Results Management Office, and health service administrators.

The Role
The Performance Management Analyst role, reporting to the Director of the Results Management Office within the Cancer Care Branch, is crucial for supporting the analysis, evaluation and reporting of program performance. This position involves designing and implementing performance metrics, analyzing data and preparing detailed reports with actionable insights. Responsibilities include tracking performance indicators, collaborating with various departments to streamline processes, and addressing performance gaps with reporting on cancer care services by ensuring alignment with BC's 10-Year Cancer Action Plan. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements in cancer care, work in a collaborative environment and support high-impact health initiatives. The analyst works collaboratively with both internal and external partners, playing a key role in supporting the cancer care strategic repositioning initiative.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a field related to the program area and 2 years of *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered.

*Related experience may include:
  • Experience with performance evaluations, key performance indicators and reporting on programs and projects.
  • Experience with engaging and coordinating between diverse groups of stakeholders across organizations.
  • Experience in written and verbal communications such as developing briefing notes, business cases, and presentations to varying levels of stakeholders (e.g., Administrative to CEO, management, and Ministry executives).


Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
  • Experience with Data related projects (for example, programs, projects, policies and/or committees and working groups).
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, Dataverse etc.).
  • Experience with Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio etc.).
  • Experience with Agile projects.
  • Experience with Objectives and Key Results (OKR) performance management framework.
  • Applicants who self-identify as having Indigenous heritage (First Nations status or non-status, Inuit and/or Métis) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
There is one (1) full time regular position available.
Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to five days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
