Job Summary

Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking aMine Engineering Studentto support the development of Galore Creek's ongoing pre-feasibility-level study.

Reporting to the Manager of Mine Planning, the mine engineering summer student will provide pre-feasibility-level technical support in the following areas: activity-based mine scheduling, operational cost modeling, report writing, and general information presentation.

This position will be office-based at the Galore Creek Vancouver office. The expected start date for this role is in earlyMay 2025, and the end date will be approximatelyAugust 31, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, leading by example and fostering a proactive safety and sustainability culture based on the common values of health, safety, environment, and social responsibility shared by Teck and Newmont (the Partners).
  • Coordinate pre-feasibility deliverables with other Technical Services groups (Geology, Geotechnical, Processing, Water Resource).
  • Mine planning responsibilities will focus on:
  • Support in the management of mine planning workbooks
  • Complete mining-related technical study reviews and present recommendations
  • Consolidate technical information for entry into the pre-feasibility report.

The above responsibilities and accountabilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Mine Engineering degree program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Prior work experience in mine planning and/or mine financial modeling.
  • Strong data management skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; the ability to write clear and concise reports and present technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Familiarity with specialized mining software (Deswik, Maptek Vulcan) is an asset.

Pay Range (Annual Salary): 56,900 - 72,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
