For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Mechanical Engineering and an interest gaining hands-on experience working within an industrial environment.If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $4,742 - $6,000 / Month

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to, and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Opportunity to assist in project management and the coordination of maintenance projects in a processing plant; responsible for organizing, scheduling, and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
- Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost effective solutions
- Collaborate with the engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to produce detailed designs formechanical projects on site, such as upgrades to process equipment or new equipment installations
- Coordinate the plan and schedule for maintenance and shutdown work
- Support operations and working with skilled trades to troubleshoot equipment failures and repair scopes of work
- Develop and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Qualifications:
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
- A valid Class 5 drivers license or equivalent is required, access to a vehicle is strongly preferred
- Comfortable following a clean-shaven policy and breathing through a full face respirator
- Comfortablewith confined spaces
- Comfortable working in a multi- faceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical, trade, and operational personnel
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a solid understanding of 2D/3D CAD software is an asset.
