Job Summary

The Team
The Child, Youth, and Mental Health team is a small, collaborative group of five professionals who work closely with social workers, probation officers, and guardianship workers. The team focuses on parent education, family and parent support, and provides generalist duties in an open-concept office environment, making a significant impact on the well-being of families and youth.

The Role
The Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician role offers an impactful opportunity to support children, youth, and families through direct clinical services, including assessments, treatment, and crisis intervention, all aimed at fostering positive mental health outcomes. The Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician position allows for flexible work in diverse settings-such as homes, schools, and communities-while collaborating with families and professionals to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for vulnerable individuals.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
