Job Summary

The Team
The Cranbrook Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team is a close-knit, established group of six clinicians and one team leader who bring years of experience to their work. Known for their strong teamwork and supportive culture, the team emphasizes collaboration, mutual empowerment, and fosters a healthy, inclusive environment leveraging individual strengths and interests to support local families. They work closely with area pediatricians, schools, other community partners and internal Ministry teams to make a meaningful impact on child and youth mental health by supporting the whole family system. The Role
As a Clinician, you will use a breadth of knowledge to provide direct clinical services to children and youth, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention. You will collaborate to create a strong support network for families, helping children navigate challenges and thrive in today's world. This part-time role offers the chance to work with complex cases, mentor practicum students, collaborate with community professionals, and make a meaningful positive connection with families in your community.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services .
