The Role

This role is full time, Monday - Friday. We are a hybrid work environment with 3 days a week in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with optional remote days (Wednesday, Friday). There is potential for this to be a remote position but we have a preference for you to be located in the Kelowna area and be able to reliably commute into the office downtown Kelowna in the Innovation Center.

Salary Range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000

Responsibilities

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with the VP of Product to:

•Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and services. •Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications. •Automate infrastructure using Terraform. •Implement and manage security practices, including encryption, IAM, and compliance. •Monitor and optimize cloud application performance. •Collaborate with Product, QA, and development teams for seamless integration and deployment. •Ensure high availability and reliability by resolving cloud issues. •Provide technical leadership within the team.
Qualifications

•Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. •7+ years in server/cloud engineering with expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, SQL, and Terraform. •Preferred: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, MySQL), data modeling, and database optimization. •Strong understanding of scaling, security, backup, and maintenance best practices. •Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines is a plus. •Proficiency in cloud engineering best practices, design patterns, and architecture. •Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. •Fluent in English, both written and spoken. •Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
