Job Description
6 month Data Engineer contract role with a growing team.
As a result of growth our client is looking to add a contract data engineer to their growing team. In this role you will provide on-going analytical, Big Data, Machine Learning, and ETL supports to meet the project needs. As a senior data engineer, you will work cross-functionally with data scientists, machine learning engineers, project managers and industry experts to develop robust AI infrastructure and deployment services for our novel machine learning applications. Key to this role is the ability to demonstrate both traditional data engineering expertise, leveraging cloud/enterprise/open-source solutions, and constructing IT infrastructure for the organization. You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 7+ years of data engineering experience developing large data pipelines.
- 4+ years of development experience, experience in the retail industry would be ideal.
- 4+ years of work experience implementing and reporting on business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments, required.
- 5+ years of experience using analytic SQL, working with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems (Snowflake or Redshift), required.
- 3+ years of experience programming languages (e.g. Python, Pyspark), preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with data orchestration/ETL tools (Airflow, Nifi), preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with Snowflake, Databricks/EMR/Spark & Airflow a plus.
- 3+ years of experience with notebook-based Data Science workflow.
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles including Dimensional modeling, data normalization principles.
- Good understanding of SQL Engines and able to conduct advanced performance tuning.
This role pays between $75-95 per hour.
