About the Opportunity

Accurate Fabricating Ltd. is looking for a full-time Operations Manager based in Surrey, BC.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire plant operation, ensuring seamless scheduling, staffing, quality control, on-time delivery, safety, and profitability.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and leading a team to achieve production goals in a heavy plate fabrication environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing day-to-day plant operations, ensuring production runs efficiently and on schedule
  • Developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Leading and mentoring the production team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance
  • Ensuring quality control and compliance with safety standards, maintaining a safe and organized work environment
  • Managing inventory, shipping, and receiving, ensuring raw materials and finished products flow smoothly
  • Anticipating and solving operational challenges, proactively addressing obstacles before they impact production
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, aligning operations with customer needs and business objectives
  • Driving profitability, monitoring costs, and implementing strategies for financial efficiency
More About You

To qualify, you will need 5+ years of operations management experience in a similar industry, ideally within a heavy plate manufacturing or attachment fabrication environment, with a strong understanding of plant operations, production efficiency, and process optimization. A combination of skills, qualifications, and experience will be considered.

The following skills, certifications, and qualifications will be highly valued:

  • Expertise in manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency in scheduling, quality control, and inventory management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, optimizing workflows, refining processes, and driving continuous improvements
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance within the fabrication environment
  • Proven leadership ability, fostering accountability, engagement, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, aligning teams and cultivating an inclusive, high-performance culture
  • Proficiency in heavy machinery, welding and fabrication processes to support operational needs as required (asset)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (asset)
  • Professional certifications in PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing (asset)
