About the Opportunity

Jewel Welding is looking for multiple full-time Class A Welders to work on our projects in across the Lower Mainland and in our shop in Maple Ridge, B.C. 

In this role, you will deliver high-quality welding and fabrication solutions for major infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will perform welding and assembly tasks in both shop and field environments. Success in this role requires expertise in producing X-ray quality welds, adhering to procedural specifications, and meeting tight deadlines.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Welding, fabricating, and assembling large steel pipe in the shop and field
  • Producing X-ray quality welds following internal and industry-standard procedures
  • Interpreting and following engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
  • Collaborating with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time
  • Operating and maintaining tools, equipment, and automated machinery
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations on-site and off-site
  • Traveling to project locations as required
  • Supporting apprentices and team members through mentoring and skill-sharing
  • Conducting quality control checks on completed welds
  • Assisting with the setup and dismantling of work areas
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace
About You

To qualify, you will need a TSBC Class A welding certification with flux core welding experience. Additionally, you must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, along with steel-toe boots and a hard hat.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Minimum B-level logbook or equivalent
  • Ability to produce X-ray quality welds consistently
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring kneeling, bending, and squatting
  • Willingness to travel to off-site locations as needed 
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
