Job Description

Just HR is searching for a dedicated Manager, Human Resources on a 3 - 6 month Interim consulting contract. The Manager, HR will help support our client’s people-focused vision as they transition through a large corporate change program. In this role, you’ll guide and advise on HR policies, employee relations, and talent growth strategies. This is a hybrid Role (3 days on-site in Richmond) with an organization that has a long rich history in right across BC and beyond.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Act as the primary contact for all employee relations issues, offering guidance on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and investigative procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with employment laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including managing WorkSafe BC claims, return-to-work plans, and workplace accommodations.
  • Conduct investigations, identify potential risks, and propose practical solutions to prevent and resolve employee relations challenges.
  • Advise leaders on HR policies, risk management, and performance-related matters to maintain a positive and compliant work environment.
  • Provide input on policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, and ways to address disputes.

Performance Management & Leadership Development

  • Collaborate with management to facilitate performance reviews and support leadership training programs.
  • Offer coaching and development planning for leaders, ensuring continuous performance improvement within their teams.

Workforce Planning

  • Work closely with leadership teams to plan staffing needs, manage open positions, and support succession planning, aligning talent strategies with business goals.
  • Guide leaders on performance management processes, including coaching, development plans, and performance improvement initiatives.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and handling employee questions.
  • Partner with leadership to review and maintain fair and competitive compensation structures.
  • Manage HR systems (e.g., HRIS) to keep employee records accurate and meet compliance standards.
  • Compile and analyze HR data (e.g., recruitment, turnover, pay, benefits usage, and engagement) to drive better decision-making.
  • Seek ways to refine HR processes, policies, and workflows for increased efficiency and compliance.

Employee Engagement, Development & Culture

  • Develop and introduce employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs, team-building events, and culture-building strategies.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to create a welcoming, high-achieving work environment.

Various HR Projects

  • Contribute to special projects as assigned, providing strategic HR insights to enhance organizational performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in HR.
  • Sound knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and related requirements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-speed environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience partnering with employees and leaders at all levels.

Remuneration:

The hourly pay range for this interim contract role is $57 - 63/hr.
