About the Opportunity

LFN is looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager based in Lytton, BC

Reporting to the LFN Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Nation's human resources functions, ensuring compliance with policies and supporting the organization’s rebuilding and growth efforts.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing HR operations, maintaining personnel systems, and supporting staff while fostering a positive and efficient workplace environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the onboarding process for new staff
  • Maintaining and auditing personnel files and records for compliance
  • Managing the PurelyHR database and generating requested reports
  • Ensuring adherence to HR policies and conducting criminal record checks for employees
  • Supporting employee evaluations, including 3-month and annual reviews
  • Facilitating benefits and pension sessions while keeping employee records up to date
  • Collaborating on recruitment efforts, including updating job postings and liaising with external partners
  • Providing administrative support to the Personnel and OH&S Committees, including minute-taking and reporting
  • Assisting with policy updates, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices
  • Exploring and implementing potential HR system improvements for operational efficiency

About You

To qualify, you will need a diploma or certificate in business administration or human resource management, or equivalent experience in senior administrative support, along with 1-2+ years of experience in human resources or a related role. Due to the recent fires, accommodations in Lytton are currently limited, and candidates must view living in temporary housing or commuting as a commitment to supporting the community’s ongoing rebuilding and resilience efforts.

The following are also required:

  • Ability to undergo a criminal record & vulnerable sector checks
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License & access to a reliable vehicle
  • Willingness and ability to travel per organization needs 

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Experience with HR systems, such as PurelyHR, or a willingness to learn
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Proven ability to handle employment-related situations tactfully
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of policy compliance and updating processes
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to First Nations communities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, rebuilding environment
