The Team
The Human Rights Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial Tribunal established by the Human Rights Code ("Code") to provide dispute resolution services in human rights matters. The Tribunal receives, mediates, and adjudicates complaints in human rights matters. The team is a dedicated and experienced group committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion through fair and impartial human rights dispute resolution. As an established team, they manage a high volume of human rights complaints while ensuring privacy and accessibility in line with the Human Rights Code and FOIPPA. Their work has a meaningful impact on individuals and communities, fostering a more just and inclusive society, and they value collaboration, respect, and integrity in everything they do.
The Role
The Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring fair and accessible service at the Tribunal. This position is responsible for providing general information on policies and procedures, assessing and responding to public inquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate resources. It also involves processing incoming correspondence, coordinating hearing rooms, and managing reception services. With a strong focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion, the role ensures that all individuals, regardless of background, receive clear and accurate information in a respectful and supportive manner. This position is an integral part of the Tribunal's commitment to delivering accessible and efficient services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 months experience providing administrative or clerical support services in an office environment.
- Experience providing customer service, preferably within a high volume, fast paced environment and a diverse clientele.
- Experience / training with office computer applications such as word processing, case management systems, data bases and other standard applications.
- Preference may be given for post-secondary education.
- Preference may be given to those who have taken de-escalation, trauma informed or conflict resolution training or related training for dealing with challenging situations.
