Carpenter (Temporary)

Assignment: Temporary, January - July 2025.  Shifts are 3:30pm to 11:30pm (afternoons) with the opportunity to work day-shift during school breaks and if assigned project work. 

 

Wage: $36.78 per hour, with 10.8% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays. 

 

Job Summary

 

  1. Constructs, installs, repairs and maintains buildings, furnishings, equipment and carpentry-related grounds projects.
  2. Performs all carpenter duties, and works in related areas such as concrete, millwork, glass replacement, drywall and floor coverings.
  3. Designs projects, reads and interprets drawings and specifications and prepares cost estimates.
  4. Directs, assists and liaises with employees, contractors, regulatory agencies and other trades, as required.
  5. May on occasion be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Your Education and Experience

 

  • Successful completion of an approved Apprenticeship Program and a valid Provincial/Interprovincial Red Seal Carpenter certification
  • Two years related experience at the journeyman level 
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License.
