Job Summary

The Team:
Join our established Nadina District Scaling and Waste Tenures Team, a dynamic and energetic group of forest professionals dedicated to natural resource management. You will work alongside the North Area Revenue Team, collaborating with colleagues across the North Area and provincially, as well as the District Authorizations Team, and engaging with wildfire rehabilitation and risk reduction programs. Our team values independence in managing district programs, while fostering strong collaboration with both internal teams and external clients to make a significant impact in forest health, wildfire salvage, and revenue management.

The Role:
As a Scaling Officer, you will be responsible for administering and delivering the district program, maintaining and monitoring scaling standards, and overseeing the waste and residue program. You will help clients manage their fibre flow by ensuring accurate scaling and grading performance while addressing any violations. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Valid Interior Scaler Licence with required endorsements.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related Interior Scaling operational experience.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available.
This position can be located in Burns Lake or Houston.
Depending on the successful candidate's location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
