Teck is looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Group Leader, Applications and Information, the Systems Analyst will work with technical and non-technical stakeholders in developing data pipelines and data models supporting various business intelligence and analytics tools.

This role is based in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Please note this role does require the successful candidate to live within 100KM of Trail. British, Columbia. Relocation assistance will be offered however there is no camp or company housing.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Work with application owners and other stakeholders to improve the data availability and presentation
  • Collect, blend, and transform data using ETL tools, database management system tools including Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services, Python and C++
  • Participate in the development of data models to structure data in ready for BI consumption formats
  • Perform aggregation on data across various warehousing models, such as OLAP cubes and star schemas for Business Intelligence purposes
  • Incorporate security requirements into design
  • Adhere to I/S control policies throughout design, development, and testing
  • Perform unit and integration testing
  • Find and troubleshoot application issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 3 years' experience or a diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 4.5 years' experience
  • Minimum three years' experience in data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets of unstructured data
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks or SQL Data Warehouse
  • Understanding of SQL scripting, Python, and R
  • Experience in database development and data modeling
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power Bi, QlikView, QlikSense, SSRS, SSIS and Excel
  • Experience in developing reports, dashboards and KPI visualizations across multiple domains
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines would be an asset
  • Ability to understand business drivers and challenges faced by clients
  • Ability to proficiently deal with multiple competing priorities
  • Critical thinker with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business users
  • Personable and interacts in a cordial manner, effective results-driven team, and cross-team player

Salary Range: $45.99 - $49.72/ Hour
