Job Description
Excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional with 7+ years of relevant experience who is looking for a fulfilling and interesting role with a company that is both well-established and growing. Reporting into an impressive VP Operations and leading a team of 4. Opportunity for long-term growth for a strong performer.
Who- the Company:
Our client is a well-managed and reputable business that was founded over 40 years ago. Their products for the home are sold by many big-name online retailers. The company’s corporate headquarters are in Greater Vancouver, and there are production facilities locally and in the US
What- the Role:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Purchasing. This is a newly created role due to increasing operational needs. The new Sr Mgr will report into an impressive VP Operations who the new Director can learn a great deal from. The Senior Manager will manage and mentor a team of 4 people (Purchasing Managers and Buyers, local and remote). The Senior Manager and their team will conduct full-cycle purchasing/procurement for 2 production sites. With time, as the Senior Manager demonstrates ability and readiness for growth, other responsibilities can be layered on. There is good opportunity for long-term career development. SWIM will provide interested & qualified candidates with a full job description.
Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking well-rounded professionals with at least 6 years of progressive experience in procurement/purchasing within the manufacturing sector, including a minimum of 2 years and ideally 3+ years in people management capacities. Qualified candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent, creative, ambitious, and business-minded. This is a great role for someone who loves 360-degree mentorship and continuous personal and professional development.
The company is headquartered in the Surrey area. The preference is for the new Senior Manager to be at the office and “in the action” full time Mon-Fri, if possible- please discuss with SWIM. Additionally, the Senior Manager will travel occasionally to see the US operations and to establish in-person relationships with their direct team members and other colleagues who work from there.
How Much:
Base salary commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications- likely in the range of $85,000 to $110,000. That said, there may be room beyond that for someone with highly relevant experience who hits not only the must haves but most/all of the nice to haves- please discuss with SWIM.
