Job Description
Fantastic career opportunity with a reputable and successful privately-held Vancouver headquartered company with operations across Canada and the US. The organization has ambitious and realistic growth plans, and this is a fantastic time to join the team! We are seeking a very Senior Logistics expert, who has proven leadership abilities, an eye for process improvement, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Good opportunity for long-term career growth for a strong performer.
Who- the Company:
Our client is a successful company headquartered in the lower mainland with an impressive history. The company is primarily B2B (wholesale selling to retail companies) and has customers across Canada and the US. The company has continued to expand their reach and diversify operations in recent years. They have built a culture that is highly collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial, with engaged and fulfilled employees. The company treats their people to social events, holiday parties, happy hours, etc.
What- the Role:
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Senior Manager of Logistics. This person will lead logistics from both a day-to-day, functional, and hands-on perspective AND from a long-term strategic perspective. Working collaboratively with colleagues in other areas of supply chain such as warehousing and inventory management, as well as cross-departmentally with folks in finance, HR, sales, manufacturing, etc.
The Sr Mgr will lead a team of direct and indirect reports, and will themselves report into the COO. Managing inbound (from 6+ countries, including countries in Asia), forward (across US & Canada), and reverse logistics.
This new leader will be in charge of carrier management (intermodal, LTL, etc.) and will spearhead logistics process improvements, risk mitigation plans, and system enhancements.
SWIM will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.
What- the Title:
Please note that this role could potentially be titled Director of Logistics, instead, if the finalist candidate has many years of highly relevant experience and qualifications. Who- the Candidate: We are looking for an individual with at least 7 years of relevant and progressive logistics work experience, including at least a couple years leading a team of 5+ people (ideally including middle-management/supervisory level direct reports who have their own team members). Excellent leadership, mentorship, coaching, and people development skills are crucial in this role.
Candidates must have experience with LTL and intermodal logistics for large parcel items. B2B logistics is sought after. US/Canada cross-border forward/reverse logistics experience is highly preferred, as is multi-national inbound logistics (the more countries, the better!).
Qualified candidates will be computer savvy, with hands-on experience using ERP and WMS and proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V look-ups, etc.).
Some form of relevant post-secondary education is required, and further qualifications such as an MBA or graduate degree in supply chain will be viewed very favourably.
How Much:
Competitive base salary commensurate with level of skills, experience, and education- likely in the range of $110,000 to $140,000. The company will provide their new Logistics leader with a solid overall compensation package, including bonus program, paid vacation and sick days, relevant professional development support, solid health, dental, & vision benefits (lots of areas are covered for employees at 100%), and generous product discounts.
Where:
HYBRID. The company is headquartered in Greater Vancouver, outside of Downtown, with free employee parking and nearby rapid transit. The logistics team works on a hybrid schedule- 3 days in office/2 days at home (although the Sr Mgr can choose to work 4-5 days from the office, if they prefer). Dynamic and inviting work environment, with an onsite employee gym and other perks.
When & How to Apply:
Swim Recruiting will be presenting the profiles of short-listed candidates directly to the hiring COO for review. If you already have a Recruiter at SWIM, please reach out very soon. If you do not yet have a contact at Swim Recruiting, please hit 'APPLY NOW' to send us your resume (preferably in MS Word format as it works best with our internal systems). Thank you!
