Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Resident Program Manager, the Care Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordination, development, implementation, evaluation and administration of resident care, clinical practice and care programs; and the overall formal supervision of all care staff to ensure a high standard of quality care and service is delivered. As a clinical resource, role model and leader for the care team, provides direct and indirect support, guidance, direction, intervention in the delivery of resident care and care planning process.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00
Jubilee Lodge, attached to the University Hospital of Northern BC is a 66-bed facility; with one-bed, two-bed and four-bed units. There is a common dining room, solarium sitting area and a large patio. Recreation Therapy is provided on site, which provides activities such as hymn-sing, school visits with the elderly, choral groups.

Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Post graduated courses and/or certification in Gerontology.
• Demonstrated successful clinical and supervisory competence related to Long Term Care.
• Five (5) years recent related clinical practice experience within the last seven (7) years, where relevant nursing skill and management principals have been utilized, including two years successful formal supervisory experience in a health care setting.
Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent clinical, supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and computer skills.
• Ability to plan, set priorities, organize and manage nursing services in the facilities.
• Excellent budgeting and administration skills.
• Ability to act as a role model in creating a collaborative and harmonious working atmosphere.

• Ability to work and make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the health care team.
• Ability to recognize and intervene in an emergency situation.
