Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our Palliative Care team.

In accordance with established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Regional Lead or designate, the Palliative Care Resource Nurse (PCRN) practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.
The PCRN screens and prioritizes consultation activities, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, in order to provide consultation and clinical support based on specialized theory, knowledge, education and practice in the designated clinical area. Provides individual and/or group education, training of educators and other similar roles to provide educational sessions on basic concepts and palliative care using established palliative care curriculum and develops resources and education materials as needed.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30

Qualfications
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Three (3) years' recent related clinical nursing experience in palliative care, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory/leadership role, and one year experience providing education to other healthcare providers or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid BC Driver's License

• Ability to apply educational theories and best practices to teaching.
• Ability to identify learning needs of individual or groups of staff.
• Ability to supervise the implementation of projects and quality improvement initiatives utilizing change management theory.
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and lead meetings.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
