  • Job Purpose
    The Process Automation Developer will develop and deliver process automation. They are a subject matter expert and technical advisor on general automation tools, techniques and applications as they apply to our business. The Process Automation Developer will support the process automation lifecycle (from concept and design to daily operation and maintenance). This role identifies requirements, creates functional specifications, develops tests, and implements process automation. This role ensures that the users' perspective is well-considered throughout the lifecycle.

    Communication
  • Partner with business users to clarify and capture product requirements for effective process automation solutions
  • Creating and maintaining solutions and testing documentation
  • Explore and Capture Needs
  • Analyze requirements, work with technical experts and draw on their deep understanding of business processes in the banking industry to produce clear and concise process design documentation.
  • Identifying new process automation opportunities, analyzing and assessing feasibility and facilitating business line engagement
  • Performance
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure process automation is properly tested in development and production environments.
  • Support operationalizing process automation from the production implementation phase to the business-as-usual phase.
  • Collaborate with the Process Automation team to create and refine the process automation framework to provide rapid and repeatable delivery of automated processes.
  • Support existing process automation and implement change requirements in a structured change control process.
  • Responsible for problem/issue resolution that arises in the day-to-day running of automated processes, providing timely responses and solutions as required
  • Manage work within project planning constraints, prioritizing, communicating and/or escalating any identified project risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Become an expert in the applications and understand advanced functionality
  • Inform solution and data architects of platform-specific data management approaches and best practices to achieve the highest performance of applications.
  • Understand platform AI implementation and how it can be deployed within best practices.

  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 - 6 Years of Job-Related experience with process automation tools, technology and applications, e.g. BPM, RPA and workflow and scheduling applications. Experience scripting and programming in PowerShell, .NET, C#, Java and AWS Lambda. Demonstrated understanding of networking configuration-familiarity with Database queries and scripting. Prior experience in supporting banking applications an asset Development or application support is an asset.
  • Bachelor's Degree or a diploma of 3 - 4 years of full-time study in computer science or comparable information technology discipline.
  • Experience using MS Office suite, including Visio
  • Project and Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, including Agile
  • Experience gathering business requirements and refining them to functional requirements
  • Experience in successfully taking an Automation process from the implementation phase to the support phase. Putting together all the processes and documentation to help an automation team support a live solution, e.g. service desk troubleshooting, documentation, etc.
  • Experience with information systems concepts and terminology
  • Advanced experience with macros and scripting
  • Advanced demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Technology (VB .NET, Windows, Internet Explorer, SQL Server, Web Services)
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage their existing knowledge and ability to learn how to develop automated processes rapidly
  • Solid ability to conduct scope business analysis, including workflow analysis, business information requirements and models
