In this role, you will thrive on maximizing sales opportunities for a diverse group of clients, while also generating business from new and existing accounts. You will forge strong relationships, acting as a liaison between the company and its valued customers, ensuring unparalleled levels of customer service.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in fire protection, water works and mechanical products, armed with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. This role requires the successful incumbent to travel 25-35% of the time so a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
What You’ll Do
- Visit clients to grow business, advise on special pricing/services, and receive orders
- Resolve customer issues, coordinating with inside sales, credit, and warehouse teams for solutions and improvements
- Coordinate customer purchases with inside sales and provide necessary follow-ups
- Identify new business opportunities and develop new accounts
- Prepare sales forecasts and review results with Regional Manager
- Monitor client creditworthiness and report any irregularities
- Assist in warehouse tasks, order desk, and ERP system tasks as needed
- Participate in special sales functions and trade shows
- Collaborate with vendor representatives and attend training programs as required
- Prepare and generate various reports
What You Bring
- 3-5 years' experience in customer service/sales or, preferably in a related industry
- Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, and/or general plumbing is a big asset
- College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant industry experience
- Proven business development skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy with keen attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications
- Strong mathematical skills
- Self-starter with exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities
