Community

Wrinch Medical Clinic is located within the Wrinch Memorial Hospital in beautiful Hazelton, BC on the unceded territory of the Gitxsan people. Ten physicians, two GP anesthetists, one nurse practitioner, and three midwives make up our medical team. Nine full-time, three part-time, and several casuals make up our Primary Care Assistant team who help our providers in various ways. We have been a teaching hospital for many years. We have had multiple medical students, residents, and NP students come through our doors for their next rotation of their learning journey. I have never heard anyone say they did not learn a lot during their time here.

Our physicians work primarily in the Medical Clinic and Emergency, but several go to our Outreach Clinics in various Villages in the area. Our NP works 3 days a week in our Outreach Clinics in the Gitsegukla, Gitwangak, and Gitanyow Villages. He also works in our Clinic on the days he is not in one of the Villages. Our midwives work out of our Clinic much of the time but have hospital privileges in Smithers and Terrace as well. This NP position would be primarily in the Medical Clinic with some opportunity for outreach if desired.

We are very fortunate to have several specialists who come to Hazelton: Gynecology, Urology, internal Medicine, Rheumatology, 2 General Surgeons, GP Surgeon, Pediatricians from BC Children's, and Pain Clinic (by GP anesthetist).

If you are an outdoors person, we have multiple hiking trails, many lakes, skiing nearby. There is a library which houses our museum, K'san Village, multiple cultural events, and totem poles in the area.
