Job Summary

The Team
Our New Westminster Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Team consists of 6 clinicians and 1 Team Leader. Our passionate and experienced team are all master's trained professionals. At CYMH New Westminster we work to provide services to support children and youth (aged 0-19) who are experiencing mental health issues. We work collaboratively with children, youth and their parents/caregivers to support mental wellness. Additionally, we partner closely with schools, community service providers and healthcare providers. We are a supportive, dynamic team who enjoy opportunities to collaborate with each other, increase our knowledge and clinical skills, and provide a high quality of service to our clients.

The Role
In this role, you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Your work will support mental health and wellness and positive outcomes within the community of New Westminster. As part of this team of dedicated and compassionate professionals, you will make a lasting impact in the lives of young people and their families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
• Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  
• Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
• Applicants with work experience with Early Psychosis Intervention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, or infant and early childhood.

About this Position:
This is a permanent, part-time (35 hours bi-weekly) position.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
