What- the Role:
On behalf of our client in Kelowna, Swim Recruiting is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. This is a newly created role due to business growth. The Mgr, FP&A will collaborate with colleagues across accounting & finance (based in Kelowna and other Canadian cities), and will interact daily with colleagues in all business areas- from the folks working in operations, to colleagues in frontline positions like hospitality, to peers working in sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain. Because of this, we are looking for a Mgr, FP&A who can build a meaningful in-person business relationship with everyone and anyone- whether or not that person knows what a debit and credit is.
This is a very well-rounded role, and the Mgr FP&A will take the lead on routine FP&A (i.e. budgeting & forecasting, and monthly meetings reviewing financial positions with senior leaders) and ad hoc FP&A (sales analysis, SKU analysis, volume mix analysis, price analysis, cost analysis, competitor analysis, new market analysis, the list goes on!). The Mgr FP&A will be using an ERP for data extraction, as well as PowerBI, plenty of sophisticated Excel, and a few other BI tools. Who- the Candidate:  
We are looking for a senior FP&A professional who is a team player, a great relationship builder, and who enjoys taking on a variety of FP&A responsibilities based on business needs. Qualified candidates will have at least 5 yearsof relevant and progressive FP&A work experience. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, non-verbal/in-person) are crucial in this role. The finance leaders at this company have built a fantastic finance team in Kelowna that has a lot of fun together while doing interesting and important work.

• Work experience working in a complex, fast-paced, and multi-entity business.
• Ability to partner with folks in any and all departments and business lines.
• Foundational accounting skills and knowledge.
• Solid presentation skills and the ability to “tell the story behind the numbers”.
• Relevant post-secondary education (in finance, accounting, commerce, business, etc.).
• CFA or MBA Finance or CPA is preferred, not necessarily required for someone with solid relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience using an ERP and advanced proficiency with Excel (including financial modeling) is required. Experience with a BI tool is highly preferred, especially PowerBI or Tableau.
• Qualified candidates for this role will be both hands-on and strategic, and able to keep an eye on the details while keeping in mind the big picture.

How Much:
Base salary commensurate with experience- for now the range is likely $105,000 to $115,000. There will also be a performance-based bonus, solid health & dental benefits, an RRSP match, a deferred profit sharing plan (DPSP), professional development support, etc. Employees also get a few other cool perks and juicy discounts!

Where:
Based in beautiful Kelowna in BC’s Okanagan Valley. This is a full-time in-office role during initial onboarding and training, after which time the FP&A Manager can start to work from home 1 day a week.
