Job Description

The Role
Reporting to the VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, the Legal Assistant provides administrative support to the General Counsel and larger legal team, with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Assisting with data and document entry into internal records systems, including scanning, copying and filing documents;

Assisting with document production and formatting, including preparation of external correspondence;

Attending to legal invoices;

Corresponding with external law firms, including transmittal of filing materials;

Assembling books and binders;

Managing calendars and bring forward systems, including scheduling meetings and travel arrangements; and

Other administrative duties as required from time to time.
Required Skills and Experience

Graduate of an accredited legal administrative assistant program and/or have at least 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in a firm or in-house legal department;

Effective organization and time-management skills;

Strong document production skills, including exceptional spelling and grammar;

Effective interpersonal and communication skills;

Highly dependable and adaptable with a strong work ethic; and

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to learn internal computer systems;
