Job Summary

The Team
The Digital Workplace and Collaboration Services Branch (DWCS) is an established team of 90 dedicated professionalsresponsible for implementing high-quality tools to support a modern digital workplace. By delivering employee-ready tools and supports, DWCS enables and empowers all B.C. Public Service employees to deliver services to the citizens of B.C. DWCS is focused on providing simple, accessible, and approachable solutions to employees; by delivering the information andresources they need to access and use digital tools and services.

Part of the DWCS team includes the Digital Workplace Planning and Design (DWPD) unit that isresponsible for the planning and design of the roll-out for new and/or updatedproductivity tools to help BC Public Service (BCPS) employees work more efficiently and effectively. The team is currently focused on enabling Microsoft Power Platform as a service, and the future implementation planning for Microsoft Purview for the BCPS. Their ongoing dedication to supporting and enabling effective cloud application infrastructure is highly valued and essential to the support of a modern digital workplace.

The Role
The Solution Architect is responsible for leading the evaluation, planning, testing, and implementation of Microsoft 365 (M365) applications at the enterprise level for the BC Public Service (BCPS) and some Broader Public Sector organizations. This role involves collaborating with clients and business partners to understand requirements, designing scalable solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices, and overseeing the integration of M365 services to enhance productivity, security, and collaboration across the BCPS. This position plays a pivotalrole in leading the technical implementation of M365 cloud applications such as SharePoint, OneDrive and/or Power Platform and ensuring that solutions are optimized for performance and maintainability while supporting strategic IT objectives to support a digital workplace in alignment with B.C's Digital Plan: Mission 4 . Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology and/or Information Management or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years related experience*, OR
  • Diploma, in Information Technology and/or Information Management or a related filed and a minimum of five (5) years related experience*, OR
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of seven (7) years related experience*


*Related experience must include all of the following:

o Experience providing a significant focus on customer/client experience and customer/client service.
o Experience coordinating resolution of technical and business problems while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
o Experience conducting technical feasibility analysis and/or developing technology plans and strategies.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in assessing customer/client requirements, developing and implementing technical and business solutions.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience developing and implementing Microsoft 365 application management within a large enterprise environment.

Preference may be given to individuals with one (1) or more of the following:
  • Experience supervising staff including assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans and approval of leave.
  • Experience providing leadership and advice to highly trained and qualified staff and/or consultants
  • One (1) or more years experience with Microsoft infrastructure technologies, specifically experience with Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and/or OneDrive.
  • One (1) or more years experience working in an agile methodology environment focused on the planning, design, testing and implementation of digital products and/or services.

WILLINGNESS STATEMENTS
  • Must be flexible with working hours, hours of work vary depending on operational demands
  • Must be willing to work overtime and/or be placed on standby 24/7 with limited notice year-round, including on weekends, evenings, nights and holidays, as needed.

This is a temporary opportunity until 11/28/2025 . This position may be extended or become permanent.
