The Opportunity:
WSP is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) consultant to join our BC Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate would work closely with our established team of scientists and engineers providing WSP's service offering for EHS management and compliance projects within BC and across Canada as well as raise the profile and building the brand of WSP's EHS Management and Compliance Group.

What you can expect to do here:
- Assist with field assignments, such as providing EHS compliance support and train with senior staff at EHS compliance audits.
- Assist with providing EHS compliance program support for clients including reviewing procedures and permits, reviewing periodic regulatory reports, and supporting preparation and delivering of compliance programs, including training programs.
- Assist with preparing written technical reports, including documentation of EHS compliance audits and field investigations, regulatory research, evaluation of findings, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
- Interact and collaborate with internal and external clients.
- Assist with the development of ISO 14001 and other environmental management system programs or components.
- Develop project specific legal registries of environmental regulations.
- Provide support for other WSP services including environmental monitoring of construction projects.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering within a relevant field (Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar scientific discipline).
- 3-5 years or more of relevant professional technical experience.
- Holding or progressing towards a designation as a Certified Auditor (e.g. EP (CEA), EP(EMSLA)).
- Holding or eligible for professional designation (e.g., AScT, P.ENG, R.P. Bio, PAg,).
- Strong field survey skills and experience, including design and implementation of field programs and logistics, equipment usage, and health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated understanding of federal, provincial/territorial, and regional/municipal environmental legislation and regulations.
- Ability to acquire Reliability Clearance for working on federal government projects.
- Available for business travel and extended working hours as may be required.
- Excellent work ethic with strong organization and time management skills.
- Strong team player - ability to work with all levels of an organization.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
