Job Description

Our client in Kelowna is looking for a Forklift Operator for the am shift. This is a transportation and supply-chain company with possibility of growth and Responsibilities (PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A STAFFING AGENCY LOCATED IN DELTA WITH OUR CLIENT COMPANY LOCATED IN KELOWNA, THIS POSITION IS NOT IN DELTA, BC)

Key Responsibilities:

Cargo Handling: Safely and efficiently offload and load cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques.
Verification: Conduct thorough verification of the count and condition of goods being loaded or unloaded to ensure accuracy and quality.
Labeling: Accurately label freight for correct destinations, ensuring smooth and precise logistics operations.
Freight Zone Management: Assist in maintaining designated freight zones on the dock, including outbound shipments, Overages, Shortages, and Damages (OSD), and local deliveries.
KPI Performance: Consistently meet and exceed the performance parameters set forth in our Key Performance Indicator (KPI) bonus program.
Documentation: Update and maintain shipping and receiving documents, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.
Compliance and Safety: Uphold compliance with all relevant policies, best practices, and safety regulations to foster a safe working environment.
Productivity and Quality Control: Maintain process management protocols, track productivity measurements, and ensure quality control throughout the loading and unloading processes.
Physical Requirements: Capable of handling packages weighing up to 50 pounds, ensuring proper lifting techniques are employed.
Availability: Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work occasional extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet operational demands.
Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required to support overall warehouse operations, including general housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications:

Highly organized, with strong skills in prioritizing and managing workload effectively
Self-motivated, thriving in fast-paced work environments
Exceptional attention to detail
Holds a valid Forklift License
Proficient in both oral and written communication
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Proven ability to meet urgent deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of resolving issues efficiently and effectively
Experience in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) operations and outbound loading is advantageous

This is a Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 1:30 pm shift.
