TheData Engineer is responsible for implementing & maintaining methods to improve data reliability and quality by combining raw data from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats for the usage of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and relevant stakeholders within cloud-based data ecosystem.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build and maintain highly scalable data pipelines (end-to-end) for large volumes of complex data processing and analysis within a cloud-based ecosystem.
- Build pipelines to and from external sources like FTP/SFTP servers, API's and Web to GCP BigQuery, GCS, SQL server, Cloud based database systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Python, PySpark, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) techniques to ingest and transform data from various sources.
- Ensure high data integrity, security, and quality from various data sources that are aligned to industry best practices.
- Proficient in the Apache stack, including Spark, NiFi, and Beam, to design and implement robust data pipelines that drive our analytics.
- Experience with Docker, Google Container Registry and Google Kubernetes Engine for running and orchestrating containerized applications on GCP.
- Build, develop and maintain large data warehouses, high-performance data processing pipelines, and ETL tools.
- Experience in CI/CD practices using Google Cloud Build, Cloud Source Repositories, Cloud Run, and Artifact Registry to automate and streamline our deployment processes.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to fulfill their needs.
- Document data engineering processes, data flows, and best practices for knowledge sharing
- Explore new technologies to improve current data stacks.
- Explore existing and new data sources and facilitate the integration to the Data Warehouse.
- Develop data definition and metrics and maintain consistency across Data team.
- Graduates of Computer Science and Information Technology. Mathematics/Statistics or other related fields is a plus.
- 3 years or more of work experience related to data engineering, data warehouse management, database developer and architecture.
- Experience with multiple programming languages including Python.
- Experience with Apache Stack (Spark, NiFi & Beam) for big data processing.
- Knowledge CI/CD, Git, Release Management
- Solid experience with relational SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL.
- Solid experience and knowledge on Google Cloud Platform (knowledge also on AWS is a plus) for data management: Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Dataflow (Apache Beam), Cloud Build, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, BigQuery, and Dataprep, SSIS or equivalent.
- Experience in designing and standing up APIs and services.
- Quick learner with the ability to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly.
- Previous work experience in the Automotive Industry and knowledge about DMS and CRM would be an added asset.
