The Coordinator-Health, Safety & Prevention (HSP), together with the Workplace Health and Safety team, works to strengthen Northern Health's culture of safety. Under the direction of the Regional Manager-HSP, the incumbent develops Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program materials, supports implementation of occupational health and safety programs, coordinates program administration, and delivers safety education and training sessions.
Starting salary will be approximately from $57,347 to $71,684 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an Occupational Health and Safety certificate or diploma program from a recognized institution.
• Two (2) years of Occupational Health and Safety experience in the healthcare settings.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid BC driver's license.
Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and digital communications (e.g.
• Outlook, MS Teams, Skype, Webinar).
• Experienced working with computer applications, databases, and report creation.
• Working knowledge of BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and the Workers Compensation Act.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to be a team player and work effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
