**Controller - Mining Industry**

Our prestigious mining client, located in downtown Vancouver, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their dynamic team due to significant growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with top-tier finance professionals and gain deep exposure to the mining sector.

**Position Overview:**

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Controller will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of the company. Key responsibilities include:

- Overseeing both internal and external financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conducting thorough reviews of consolidated financial statements.
- Managing all reporting activities from various mine sites, ensuring timely and accurate data consolidation.
- Leading the budgeting process and providing in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Preparing quarterly reports, including financial statements, MD&A, and news releases, in alignment with industry standards.
- Maintaining and testing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Supporting treasury operations, including cash flow management and reporting.
- Ensuring tax compliance and efficient tax planning strategies.
- Serving as the primary liaison with external auditors, facilitating smooth audit processes.
- Supervising and mentoring a team of finance professionals, fostering their growth and development.

**Requirements:**

- CPA designation with a solid foundation in Public Practice.
- Experience at the Manager level or higher, with a background in public company finance or a blend of public practice and industry experience.
- A strong understanding of financial reporting within the mining or natural resources sector is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop a team.
