Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.

The Role
The English Language Learning and Acquisition Department is seeking to expand its list of contract instructors qualified to teach both EAP and TESL courses.
Responsibilities
As a contract instructor in the ELLA Department, you will:
•Develop course outlines following curriculum guidelines;
•Select and create teaching materials;
•Manage teaching and learning resources through the college's Learning Management System ( LMS );
•Deliver quality learner-centred instruction;
•Design assignments and assessment criteria;
•Evaluate student progress;
•Observe and evaluate practicum students;
•Hold regular office hours; and
•Maintain currency in the field through regular professional development.
The successful candidates will have:
•A minimum of a Master's degree in TESL , Applied Linguistics, or equivalent;
• TESL Canada Professional Standard 3 Certification;
•A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching adult EAP ;
•Demonstrated experience of teaching in a TESL program;
•Experience teaching with a Learning Management System;
•The ability to work effectively as part of a team, excellent communication skills, demonstrated initiative, self-directedness; and
•Evidence of ongoing professional development in EAP and TESL .
