Work Arrangements
The Department of Philosophy & Humanities in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applicants for its contract teaching pool, beginning in the Winter 2025 semester.
The successful applicant will be added to the department's list of available contract instructors, who may be called upon to teach courses on a contract basis as the need arises. Contract courses are offered each term based on available sections and in accordance with the priority laid out in the current Collective Agreement.

The Role
The successful applicant will teach undergraduate philosophy courses on a contract basis. At this time, we specifically seek a candidate qualified to teach PHIL 2250: Existentialism (https://www.douglascollege.ca/course/phil-2250), as we anticipate teaching needs in this area in Winter 2025.
Responsibilities
You will instruct students, facilitate learning, and evaluate student progress in University Transfer courses that are mostly offered at the first and second year level. You will plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to students, and maintain quality student-centered instruction.

•A completed PhD in Philosophy is strongly preferred; applicants who are PhD A.B.D. may be considered
•Successful post-secondary teaching experience in philosophy.
•Demonstrable teaching excellence and commitment to student learning.
•Expertise in the following area: Existentialism.
