Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Vice President Academic, the Community Campus Administrator is responsible for supervising daily operations of the campus and coordinates a wide range of administrative functions required by the academic and service departments. The role ensures a positive and healthy learning environment where employees and students can contribute and develop. The Community Campus Administrator supports, monitors, and promotes all activities that provide opportunities for the growth of CNC’s strategic partnerships, and relationships, both internally and externally.  This role supports CNC’s overall strategic plan. The Community Campus Administrator works collaboratively with all college departments to ensure that all local operations and functions are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with College policies and procedures. The position also serves as the leadership administrator for the college with local community groups and organizations.  

NATURE & SCOPE:
  • The Community Campus Administrator provides day-to-day supervision of assigned Community Campus staff and works collaboratively with leaders and managers in other college departments to provide consistent direction on work functions, processes, and standards. This may include supervising staff in a matrix reporting structure.
  • The Community Campus Administrator is responsible for developing a productive, inclusive, and collaborative Community Campus team, including employees who may report to different supervisors. 
  • To ensure the campus operates effectively, the Community Campus Administrator fosters communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all departments across the college. This includes developing effective working relationships with leaders and managers across the College.
  • The Community Campus Administrator liaises with and maintains relationships with Indigenous Rights Holders, the local community, municipal and regional governments, educational and economic partners, and local employers.  
  • Through effective relationship building, the Community Campus Administrator acts as a conduit of information used to identify educational opportunities and programs for the communities supported by the campus. 
  • The Community Campus Administrator is involved in community initiatives and represents the campus at community events.
  • Working with relevant college departments, the Community Campus Administrator is responsible for managing and coordinating campus events. This includes organizing and leading campus working groups to plan and deliver campus events.
  • The Community Campus Administrator is the leadership position that champions and supports the College through the facilitation of campus-specific and college information sharing with prospective and current students, members of the public, employees, departments, and external organizations. This requires a broad knowledge and understanding of college programs, services, departments, and policies and procedures.  
  • The Community Campus Administrator collaboratively works with all Schools within the institution, but specifically the School of Access and Continuing Education in support of providing educational opportunities, supports, and experiences to learners within the communities that the campus supports. 
  • The Community Campus Administrator monitors campus services and recommends improvements for operational procedures to support effective and efficient service delivery.
  • The Community Campus Administrator is responsible for the financial management of the assigned Community Campus, including operational and project budgets as well as oversight of financial transactions within alignment of college financial directions.
  • The Community Campus Administrator will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.
  • The Community Campus Administrator will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students, colleagues, Rights Holders, the community and education partners.
