What you'll do
- Provide technical support for simulation mannequins, computer based multimedia and debriefing systems and their components, including operation of digital cameras, video cameras, audio/video mixer, digital/analog converter, monitors, LCD projectors, and other equipment.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers regarding equipment trouble shooting and escalating issues to the Simulation Technology and Operations Coordinator, vendor or IMITS as appropriate.
- Under direction of the Simulation Program staff and users, operate simulation and AV equipment to follow medical aspects of scenarios and make the requested adjustments based on participant actions.
- Arrange or perform clean-up/dismantling of educational sessions and maintenance of props and equipment as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development of effective use of AV and simulation equipment by identifying needs and creating user instructions.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, support and troubleshooting on all AV systems, media production and classroom equipment.
- Maintain warranty information and documentation on simulation equipment.
- Collect, input, maintain, and collate data regarding simulation clients, room booking, simulation activities and services, equipment purchases, maintenance, and repair history into databases.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair, of Simulation Program systems (hardware/software), mannequins, audiovisual systems, medical carts and other equipment.
- Coordinate and maintain stock of simulation props such as intravenous systems, simulated blood and wound moulage.
- Provide input to the Coordinator by recommending equipment and supply purchases to support the Simulation Program.
- Provide a safe and healthy workplace for patients, clients and staff and ensures that health and safety requirements for operational area are met. Report unsafe situations; investigate and take corrective action and/or notify appropriate personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in a recognized technology or health-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Minimum two (2) year's recent, related experience with simulation technology and clinical education.
- CHSOS certification (Certified Simulation Operations Specialist) preferred.

- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
