You'll be an integral part of our client's fast-growing company's accounting and finance department. You will work on exciting initiatives related to SOX internal controls, US GAAP, and IFRS financial reporting while reporting to the corporate controller. You will also have a chance to collaborate with teams based in both Canada and the US to advance their financial reporting function using your CPA knowledge. This full-time position provides an opportunity to join an innovative and fast-growing company. There is a good amount of variety in this position. What You'll Do:
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for the company’s business units, including consolidated and subsidiary entity-level quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Oversee the monthly accounting close process, which includes the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, monthly accounting reports, and working papers in compliance with SOX requirements.
- Compile data for various internal and external reports, including surveys.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support SOX compliance and audit processes.
- Assist with tax returns and provisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, along with a CPA designation or equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience with a public company.
- Experience with SAP, as well as familiarity with US GAAP and SOX, is considered a must.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and to collaborate across functional areas.
What's in it for You:
The role offers a competitive salary of $100,000 to $115,000 with a 30% STI/LTI target. This role requires in-office work with the possibility of working one day from home. Other benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a $2,500 wellness allowance, and a 4% employer match on RRSP contributions. Additionally, the position includes three weeks of vacation and 13 other holidays. The start date is as soon as possible.
