Position Summary
Are you looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Health Protection and Disease Prevention department.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, reporting to the Regional Manager, Community Care Facility Licensing, and working collaboratively with the Medical Health Officer, this position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of licensing services within Northern Health with the purpose of protecting and enhancing the health, safety, and wellbeing of vulnerable persons in care.
The Team Leader manages all aspects of program delivery to protect and improve population health by applying the principles of risk management, equity, administrative fairness, applicable legislation and Northern Health policies, standards and procedures.

In collaboration with the Regional Manager (or designate), the Team Leader is responsible for human resource management and planning, implementing and evaluating population level health protection services.

This position can be located in Northern Interior, North East, North West.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 04:00, 08:00 to 04:00, 08:00 to 04:00, 08:00 to 04:00, 08:00 to 04:00

Qualfications
• Bachelor's Degree in an allied health or other health related discipline relevant to the position;
• Five (5) years recent related experience which includes a minimum of two (2) years Supervisory or Management experience and experience with program planning, policy development, implementation and evaluation; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
• Current valid BC Driver's License.

• Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using, oral written and computer communication means. Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively. Applies the problem-solving process demonstrating critical thinking and decision making skills using a systems approach.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
• Teaching: Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
• Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
